    which porsche monoblocks?

    Hey all,

I am looking for porsche 996 front brakes, monoblocks, I found a website on intenet which sells used ones, there are a few different models from which I can choose :

    - 996 351 429 10 caliper porsche Turbo, 4S Left
    - 996 351 430 10 caliper porsche Turbo, 4S Right

    - 996 351 425 21 caliper porsche C4, Left
    - 996 351 425 22 caliper porsche C4, Right

    - 996 351 425 01 caliper porsche, left
    - 996 351 426 01 caliper porsche, right

Does someone know the difference between these. Are the turbo/4S ones 6 pots?

    thanks again,

    Erik

Quoted from another thread, these are the ones I have.

"the new 996s use a few calipers.

The ones we're on about here are p/n ......

      996.351.425.11 Left Front
996.351.426.11 Right Front (as far as I know the last 2 digits refer to the colour)

and are used on current model carrera 4 and carrera 2"

ok thanks stevie yid, I will PM him.

The prices which I can get varies from 415 till 560 euro(turbo) for two pieces(L+R). dont know If this is expensive. Besides that it is a company, I can get an invoice and I think I can get the VAT back.

Hmm, but what will be the difference between second pair and the third? Or did they maybe do an upgrade and is the C4 a newer model?

What I found out that the first 3 digits are for the porsch model(996), the second three digits for front (351) or back (352), the other ones are for left and right and different models(turbo etc.).

I think these are the large 4-pots, known as the GT3s. And the last two sets are the same, but with different revision codes.

Bry (Mr Brake Calliper) should know.

BTW. I'm sure the 996 351 429/430 callipers have different carrier bolt spacings (150mm) to the RS2 or Seat carriers (130mm).

But I thought GT3 where 6 pots for the front side and 4 for the back side.

But I cant find out what the different is between these

                  - 996 351 425 21 caliper porsche C4, Left
                  - 996 351 425 22 caliper porsche C4, Right

                  - 996 351 425 01 caliper porsche, left
                  - 996 351 426 01 caliper porsche, right

                    I thought the GT2s were 6-pots.

I think only the late GT3s had the 6-pot callipers like the GT2. The P/Ns you have are for the large 4-pots.

6-pots were an option on the GT3, but standard on the GT2.

Here's a good link, no part numbers though

I think maybe just a colour difference, silver on the C4 for instance.

                              Thanks for all reactions!,

Its is hard to find out where the last digits are for, sometimes it could be for the colour other time I think it is for left and right. I send the company an email if they can explain the difference. I dont think it will be wise to go for the turbo ones, I think I just have to made a selection between the C4 ones and the normal ones.
