Papvas, unfortunately for you, I'm guessing there's probably more chance of getting the batch of 10 for S2 conversions.... before the RS2 batch

Mark, what's the disc/diameter thickness to fit the 996 rear caliper? What disc do you have in mind?

Do the S2 and RS2 have the same proportioning valve?

I was thinking of the damping pads. These sit in the pistons and are stuck to the back of the pads aren't they? I can see how they might work if there is nothing between the caliper piston and pad. I am assuming that where the "plates" sit.
Actually, if you are pulling from the top, won't that mean that in effect there will be a wedge effect rather than full pad contact.
Just trying to get my head around the concept!

              Me too!

I was thinking that it might give a wedge effect with the top clamp only - also knocking back the caliper pistons but surely not.....

Obviously we aren't going to get a proper looksee at the mechanism. I like simplicity!
However, it would be interesting to have others informed opinions!
I guess it will depend on the depth of the plate as to what it will lever off.
Perhaps the reason why OE Manufactures use the seperate caliper is for a more even clamping, and perhaps greater clamping force and the opportunity to rip you off for consumables! At the end of the day, if they can save a few bob, they will! Taking into account the safety critical aspect of it against the cost of potential claims!
