That’s because it’s not on hear I did months and months of research could threads all the rest. What I did so I could always use oem parts was use the cables of a b4 saloon FWD has they use the right end and can be got from most auto factors

Let me have a look for an old for sale thread when I bought mine. They came with handbrake cables and I seem to remember they were from an Avant.

Where did people get these cables? They are nla and can’t get them by part number from factors. TRW etc don’t list them

Pagid make Coupe cables, so you may find they make the Avant cables too. Mine were used items.

You might be best off working out the length you need and then spending a bit of time going through the TRW catalogue and looking for a match.

Quick update, I bought the cables above. They are no good for the S4 rear calipers. The ‘end’ that site in the calipers is a small metal slug and not a ball so it isn’t retained at the caliper. I will order some other cables today and see if I can get something that works

Struggling with handbrake cables on the S4 rear brake conversion! Maybe i need genuine cables?
The Pagid cables are plenty long enough in the outer body, but the inner section is too short to be able to mount in the bracket by the lever and then fit onto the caliper lever?
Have i completely missed the obvious here?

Can you shorten the outer a little? I’ve done this on motorbike cables and a car throttle cable before, you have to pull the end ferrule back, strip the plastic outer off, dremel or hacksaw through a coil of the outer (without touching the inner. Not easy!)
Then unwind the outer, re-instate the ferrule and your inner is now longer

I was also wondering if you can get a converter nipple to change the small slug into a ball end, they do these for bike cables. Or turn something up in brass and solder it on.

This is a great site for cable items. I've used them to make up throttle cables for reversed inlets.

You could slot any of these to make the end larger https://www.venhill.co.uk/cables-amp...pples.html?p=3
