Just finished abit of work on the s2 including 996 brakes. I took it for a drive an you get a grauching noise from the brakes. I came back and took the wheel off and it looks like the disc is coming off centre and rubbing on the inside of the caliper. I put the wheel back on an no rubbing sounds when you spin it. Then went for a drive, after 2 mins the graunching is back. I dont re-call anyone else having this issue. any ideas would be appreciated?
Have a look at your ball joint clearance. I’ve had that same experience. It could be lip grinding off the rotor, the caliper guide-pins if you didn’t shorten them, and properly center the caliper. After a close inspection just try a longer drive and listen for improvement. BTDT a few times
My money is on the caliper guide pins... as mentioned above...

'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...
then there must be something fouling on the hub. take off and clean very carefully and ensure they are seated properly. if they are not straight it probably means you need new discs, but you could get them checked for flatness...

What size wheels do you have? Are you sure it's not the caliper on the wheel inside? This has been mentioned here before and only happens when things warm up and expand.

Im sure its not the wheels, as theres no marks on them or on the outside of the caliper. The outer edge of the disc has been rubbing, can clearly see where (the 30mm bit). Seems to be more the nsf. 16" avus wheels as others run these too.
They are rs2 carriers. I asked the question before an was told by a few people that they are fine with avus wheels.
An as said above they arent hitting the wheels. The discs are coming off centre. when they do this, if i go backwards quickly an slam brakes on they go back to centre for a couple of minutes.

Play in wheel bearings? Recently changed and not correctly seated?
