    What brakes do you recommend

Now my car is at last running how it should, I realise the need for a brake upgrade. The standard brakes are not IMOA up to the job, they certanly are not as good as the brakes on my s6.I just feal with the cost of putting this car in back on the road it would be stupid to drive it much longer whitout an upgrade.

    many thanks Lou

Do a search for Porsche or look at the sticky's at the top of the brake section

well the porsche brake caliper seems to be a very popular way to go as that is the way i have chosen. not to sure if the cross drilled discs was right desision reading on one of the other threds and am hoping the brake pads are going to be ok for every day use . a friend has movit on his s2 and has spent out shed loads for new pads and discs

He obviously didn't use the forum then and search for someone who knows how to replace them cost effectively :mischeif:

those discs are 'phat' in every sense Brian, looks a good step fwd from the 996/323x30mm setup on mine as the space between the disc faces is quite wide and the cooling has to be better as a result.

Not at all. I wish she'd keep it as it is. I've had to take the AP calipers off of the A3 , which is my run about at the moment, so I'd better remember it's back on stock brakes.
Now I have work out how to stop the APs squeaking before they go on the S3.

So what sort of cost is involved with each set up, or are they all very much the same.

Hi all - how much does a decent brake upgrade cost..?? I had new discs and pads all round last year...but I'd only just bot the car and no-one explained an upgrade to something more tastey would be a good idea...

Could I just get better bigger callipers for now, and change discs another time??

How much difference in braking performance would I notice?

                              ta
