    996 Calipers questions

    Hi

Finally I bought the 996 calipers to fit on my S2. They have the references:

    - 996.351.425
    - 996.351.426

And I bought the S8 323mm discs too. Now, the question

    - What bracket need to fit this kit on my S2?
    - What modifications need the bracket?
    - Any store to buy a modified bracket?

    Regards

have a search through the forum....but IIRC you need the SEAT brackets but as they cost a lot more than they used to people are looking elsewhere

there have been some different ones for sale on ebay and on this forum....

    good luck...

The Seat brackets are stupid money now..i had a set at £30 odd each about 2 days before they went to £200+ each

The RS2 brackets should be a straight fit though and a lot cheaper than the Seat ones

ive just done this conversion on the cab, rs2 carriers fit fine over the 323mm discs with no modification.
Youll also need hoses as the s2 have different fittings to porsche calipers. Rs2 braided hoses from goodridge fit straight on

Is there such a thing as 'Big Reds' for the back of my RS2? I want some of those tasty drilled rear discs for my RS2, but dunno if they need new calipers too?

With the RS2 carriers these calipers fit with no major problems, but you will have to skim a little bit the part where the pad gets hold. If you don't do it, it may touch the disc. Remember that this Audi disc is a little wider than the Porsche one. You may also have to insert a spacer between the bracket and the caliper to separate it a little bit. As the Audi disc's diameter is one milimeter bigger the outer pad retainer would probably touch on the disc. The RS2 goodridge metal hoses are perfect. I had these problems when fitting mine, and were sorted out easily. It's a pity that I do not have any picture. It would be easier to show.
                    Cheers.

I could not get a definative answer when I was preparing to fit them. Some say you need a spacer others say you do not.

Like I say, 1 year in now with no spacer and no problems at all

                          cheers
