The part numbers are 996.351.429 and .430. I think that is from a porsche 996 GT2. Fronts....I hope

I think you guys are right here. The "problem" is most likely due to pads, bedding in,not to much used and not tested under hard conditions. However, lets say the PAS pump is delivering alittle less pressure than it should, will this give less brake assistance and can the pump do this without giving any alarms on the autocheck?

The ABS issue is as you guys mentioned probably due to a sensor to close or to far from the ring. I resently adjusted rear left so it is probably this one. Will adjust it and se if it helps.

Leaving for offshore work shortly so will attack these issues when I get back.

    Thanks for all your inputs

I think I will order new pads to test if the brakes improve. Its a start.

Does anyone have a good suggestion on pads for road use mostly and the occasional track day? I have heard about ferrodo and ebc but thats it.
Any suggestions for online stores who sells pads for calipers with numbers 996.351.429 and .430.I think they are front calippers from a GT 2. They have 140 mm cc holes to calippers carriers. Can anyone confirm?

If the holes are 140mm apart for mounting onto the bracket (I Measured Them From Inner to Inner rather than guess the centre) - your part numbers seem correct. I bought a set of these from the States and measured them for a guy on here who make's mounting brackets... (Bambridge+)

This is a link to the my ROUGH drawing... But you will get the idea!!

I put Mintex Pads in my slightly smaller brackets (996 versions) and they are now bedding in nicely.... But I haven't driven the car really hard yet... & I dont do Track days - YET!!

          Two words: Ferodo DS2500
Do not even consider anything else.

When I got my RS2 it had crappy EBC Redstuff on the front and Greenstuff on the rear. Horrible stuff. Other folks who tested the car commented on the lack of brakes.
I then installed DS2500 all round and braking power went from awful to awe inspiring.
This is on the stock RS2 304mm discs and "small" red calipers.
In fact, the car stops better than a friends' RS 2 with brand new Big Reds and vented discs. (He is also running DS2500). Just goes to show that bigger rotors do not automatically translate into added stopping force (but will resist fade better, all other things equal).

Would not surprise me if you've got EBC pads on the car right now.

ROUGH drawings are often the best as they have much more information than a technical dwg
Ok, then we can confirm it is front calippers.Great!
I mounted them with the bleeding nipples facing up so I do not think they are the wrong way around ether.

www.raceshopper.com in the US normally has the lowest price by far, but Kollevold stock these in Norway.

Asked for a quote from Kollevold earlier today on the different Ferodo pads they supply so will se what they come back with. The other pads from Ferodo, DS1.11, DS2.11, DS performance and DS 3000, are they any good. 2.11 pads sounds really good.

                  Will check raceshopper.Thanks.

I would stick with DS2500. It is a proven performer on these cars.

I probably will. Just want to hear their opinion on the different pads and what they cost.
Read somewhere that DS2500 creates a quite a bit of brake dust. Have you experienced that?

Alright, I have been given some prices from Kollevold and Flisundet motorservice in Norway.Problem is that nobody (raceshoppers wasnt sure ether) can tell for sure which pads is needed for the calipers I have mentioned so they have given me suggestion for several pad types. Even with the number mentioned earlier in the thread they are not sure. So the prices they have given could be a little wrong as they are not sure which pads I need.

Kollevold gives these prices: DS2500 FRP3050 pads-2340 NOK, DS2500 FRP3051 pads-2300 NOK. They also say that DS2.11 is about 1200-1500 NOK more than DS2500 but do not have all the prices in on those yet as they are quite new.

FMS gave prices on DS3000 only (which they thought would fit best for my use which is street use with a day or two on track) at 2250 NOK for thr FRP 3050 pads.

My only choise now is to wait until I get home in another 3 weeks or if someone can tell me which pads I need.
Below is the pads suggested by Kollevold. I think it could be FRP3050 but it has been a while since I looked at this so I dont remember well what it looked like.

Yeah, it is quite difficult to get the part numbers I have experienced the last few days. Have spent hours and hours online to find info on which pads fits the 429/430 calipers, but with the slow connection I have onboard it just gives me a headache.I think the only solution is to take measurements and fax the suppliers with the dimentions when I get home.......dammit I was hoping to have them waiting for me when I got home.
                                Thanks for trying though.
