Didn't also psycologists say that the pursuit of BIG HUGE ALLOYS is a tipical sign of "***** COMPLEX" ?

      He he,
Doug dont get angry, I'm just kidding.
The thruth is that I'm only VERY VERY envious of your 19" wheels

I cannot even fit my 17" RS2 alloys

        Guys u r da best

Yes . I mean DA BEST out there !

P.S. Steal ,ye stealth but i wouldn't show my car in public place with such an alloys

About my avatar: I want such a type of front bumper/spoiler i little bit modified . Will cost me 300 EUR for a custom job bumper.

Btw I've read about native rs2 front bumper. It have no better aero effec that original s2 have. So the only difference is(i believe) more air space for intercooler and more agressive looks.

        Everyone have their own tastes.

At least i have a ferkin s2 sweeper, dont start taking the **** out off my motor. I want it to stay looking as standard as possible. It gets no attention from the police or theiving gits. It aint the most powerful and it aint the most flash looking piece of kit out there but it does exactly what i want it to do.

GO LIKE HELL AND STOP LIKE HELL. It's also great for getting to work and other mundane things like shopping!

Thanks to the guys on my side here, much appreciated.

              STEALTH POWER!!

If i fitted some huge spoilers and gay go faster strips I would get more attention from the old bill.

Sorry about that outburst, not enough beer intake for the day! Now sorted!

I have done just over a hundred miles with the car now, had to put an extra shim in there to space the caliper away from the discs outer edge. As the disc got hot it expanded and touched my new calipers Luckily no damge was caused.

But the brakes feel great. I drove it like a girl for a while, but then got so bored i nailed it. Came up behind a 911 turbo on a roundabout and braked later than i ever haved! OH MY GOD. Have it! I screamed round the roundabout with the inside wheel in the air and minced that old 911. He was not happy. Have started to use them harder and later for corners.

It will all end in tears one day, but until that day i am having a great time and dont care!!

If i get anymore boychaps in their 1300cc Novas come up to me in Sainsbury's car park and ask if those brakes are real, i will go mental.

How the hell they fit in there is beyond me. BUY THEM NOW! They kick ***.

Hispec brakes are a lot smaller than say brembo becuase they are machined and not cast.

One of the really neat features that also saves some space is the internal fluid crossover = no pipes on the outside. Makes them look really neat too

Glad they are up to your expectations. Did the pads go in OK in the end or did you have to 'modify' them?

They still loop round the back as per standard but use a couple of rubber grommets round each flexi with a tie-wrap loosely(but so they don't fall off) round the grommets - use another tie-wrap looping in the first tie-wrap to hold it to(loosely) the original brackets.

I'll take a pic the next time the wheels are off.

Here's the AP spec sheet - remember to specify the correct connector for your caliper!

Tried to get hold of Hi - Spec for the past 2 days, but they never answer their phone. Either their phone is busted or the're the busiest brake specialists in the country!

I think they are a victim of there own success. I took me a lot of time to contact them, you just have to keep trying. When I was there the phone was constantly ringing.

To be fair this is the only bad thing I've heard about Hispec.

I've missed a few posts along the way on this one so a quick catch-up after 1k miles on the Hi-Specs.

Agreed they were apitra to nail down to get te work done, lots of chasing. Basically its a family run outfit and Geoff's wife deals with the phones, if she's not there the phones just ring. If you see their workshop you realise the money and effort goes on the engineering not on the customer service.

The discs and pads are well bedded in. Unlike Tom I managed to behave for 300+ miles before standing on the middle pedal - just showing my age! Comparison with stock brakes is not worth teh print, no comparison. Like Leigh has said the lack of servo assistance is very noticeable but once you push through on the pedal the stopping is excellent (especially for the money). I'm yet to get them to fade, I suspect that unless i put them on a track I'd be hard pushed to get them to fade under road conditions.

Tom, like Leigh I did not have Hi-Spec engraved on the brackets.

Like Leigh's I have spacers for diameter and offset.

One niggle I have with Hi-Spec is that they appear to have sheared the bolt on one of my brake pipe carrier brackets. Annoying that they didn't tell me and I found it out later.

Basically very happy and the second best return for my money I've spent on the S2 yet. I don't need to advertise the best return
                            Jim

I have now covered about 150 miles on my new setup and have had the urge to nail them. The initial bite is 'ok' but i am using red stuffs. After that the brakes are mad. I need the stiffen the front shocks to compensate for the extra forces that the front end are subjected to now!! They pull up so well. The brakes were cheaper than the turbo etc, yet they make the car feel so much safer and faster. You just know that you can almost stop for anything. Late braking for corners etc, makes the car feel faster than having to brake way back.

I must say sorry to my new discs. I wanted to drive slowly for a few hundred miles, but i got bored and just had to cane the crap out of it.
