Looks like the latest S class uses a 335x32 with comparable hat height to the A8 discs

A buddy of mine found that Merc rotors were the best fit for Cayenne calipers on his Allroad (of course this was 7 yrs ago, time flies!).

Hi rusty I'm having some brackets made at the moment for my s2 coupe using merc 330mmx32mm ml discs as these are 5x112 pcd and have the correct pad swept area and hat height is about right using the porsche cayenne 6 pots 17zr/17zl calipers

Hi I wouldn't machine the discs thickness down as the calipers need at least 32mm unless you mean diameter.

I assume he's referring to the mounting lug thickness, as this is a problem on direct fit cars like urS6 and B5 S4.

As the mounting hole spacing on the S2 is different, there is a bit of space to offset the bracket more hunting points.

Be interested how you get on! What pads are available for the 17z calipers?

The 330x32 Merc discs are used on loads of cars, including the Chrysler Crossfire Just need the centre bore tweaking.

I doubt it. mine clear by fraction on 17" and the wheel inside picks up a few some scratches whereas 18" doesn't.

There's a range of pads that are available for these calipers but I'm going to try rs29 yellow ceramic compound as they last longer than most pads out there for same price and bite from cold and get better when hot I got told

Pads might last but it means discs won't Other thing is to make sure that the brake dust isn't silly corrosive as some materials are terrible for eating in to alloys etc.

Yeah that's the trouble when you have good pads they out last the discs
