Hee Hee - Would if I was going, its quite easy, and probably a lot easier the second time round!

Have you got your hands on the kit yet?

I haven't driven the car in the dark yet, (I only finished it tonight) so I am looking forward to a drive tomorrow night to test them!

      Cheers.

Didn't have the camera handy when I was installing them sorry!

However, I managed to fit both behind the LHS (LHD - Drivers side) headlamp, by mounting one on the slighlty curved surface that goes upwards on to the wing, and then the other one on the plastic partition in front of the power steering reservoir. If you have a look at the guide on Vagparts.com you will see what I mean....

          Hi Mark,

          Looks very smart.

The link that you supplied is for 501's, but the bulb list I have shows that the S2 side light is a 233. Can you please confirm which you have installed, as I would like to convert mine to the same.

Also, have you converted the side repeaters to LED's, or know any one that has?

          Cheers n

You can install BOTH ballast units on that plastic panel between the left headlamp and the hydraulic reservoir. One on each side... I offset mine so they can be removed individually, but you could share the same pair of mounting holes if you like.

PS - Martyn tells me that the manufacturer changed the physical size of the new ballasts since he retrofitted the pre-production items into his old brackets. That is why mine didn't fit. New brackets are in the post apparently

                  Hi Pete,

Both the autobulbsdirect.co.uk site and this site show it as the 233 for the side/parking lights

I know it is me, but I cannot see where I am wrong

                  Cheers n

Depends who you trust, the online catalogue or the forum member who tried and tested all style of LED lights and other extreme whitebulbs to find the best match (search for his thread)

I know where my money is at and it aint the online catalogue!
