Hi I've got a Duff speedo head where the mileage won't click around and I don't want to strip it to fit the cog incase I break the needle.
also my trip computer has bled so that's unreadable aswell .
I've been offered a replacement head but he tells me the fuel and temp gauges don't work and it needs soldering....anyone had this before
Any working secondhand speedo will come with second hand cogs. How long would you be pleased with having a working speedo before the replacement goes the same way? Ive learnt short cuts never actually save time.
Get a cog and follow the instructions about removing needle. I found spinning mine off much more successful than prising it off.
Spin it all the way to the stop and keep going but, as you spin pull a little. It will work its way off with no damage.

I’ve repaired a lot of these, trip computers, Odometer cogs, resoldering stuff.
