I would like to say a big thank you to Igress.

I have just purchased the sidelight bulbs after seeing your thread and after being in contact with Jason.

That was one thing that always bugged me especially when getting the HID's fitted. It made my blue sidelight bulbs look really dull. Now they give off a really good light.

A few on here have bought VAGparts H4 kits. They are IIRC straight H4's, and seem to get rave reviews.

Three versions available on the internet in general.
          H4 Hi/Lo's, straight H4's or H4 Bi-zenons.

I do have some experience of the H4 Hi/Lo's.
Don't buy them, they aren't up to much.

            Jas11n,

Thanks. I'm going to call VAGparts tomorrow and see what I need then. Now I've read more posts on this, I take it that MD01 kit I ordered was for H1 lamps? (Bit slow to cotton on, me...)

            Any thoughts on this kit?

(U5015HPW-501/194/T10 Mini Light Tower 5 x WA HB Leds)

Ordered a couple of them yesterday (Ultaleds)

              Arrived this morning.

Just fitted them, neither of them work.

Time to see how good their customer support is....

Good luck mate after the previous posts over their customer support!

Guys, check the led bulbs on a 12v supply first!

Mine didn't work either, and the odds of all these bulbs not working is slim. Hooked one up to a 12v battery and it lights up like a xmas tree.

It must be something to do with the car/bulb/computer system. Don't ask me how to get them to work though, maybe a load resistor or something in the circuit?

Well it took ULTALEDS exactly 23 mins to reply to my email - from the MD no less...

His suggestion "car may be equipped with a bulb warning system that was confused by the low power leds" Fair enough guess on his part as I didn't say what car I had.

Going to hook up the bulbs to a 12v source as per (bibby's) suggestion, see what happens.

Christmas tree.. or nothing... Place your bets. To be continued...

This sounds familiar as resistance packs do have to be used with LED's in some cars

Don't know if this will help but mine didn't work either so I just turned the bulbs around in the holder and they came on.

LED's only work one way around, if they don't work at first remove the bulb and turn it around and try again.

Guys guys, as Mak points out, LED's only work one way round.
If they don't light, take them out and turn them 180 degrees.

Autocheck won't have anything to do with it, as the autocheck doesn't monitor sidelights or highbeam. Just dipped beam

I tried them both ways around, made no difference. Using a 12v battery did make them come on.
