Earth Point for Coupe Boot Electrics

I have a non-functioning courtesy light and rear windscreen washer in the boot of the one of the S2 Coupes. I have measured the connectors with everything disconnected and there is 12V present when required, but when the load (bulb or washer motor) is connected they don't work. I have checked and measured a resistance to a good earth of around 20 ohm on the earth connection to each device which explains the issue

    Q. Is there a common ground point within the Coupe boot where these wires connect to and if so where is it? I suspect it all just needs a good clean.

I could just connect the light and washer motor to a good local earth but I would rather fix it properly and use the original wiring.

I had a similar issue and it was a broken wire going from the roof to the tailgate in the rubber tube.

That was my first instinct, I just wasn't sure if Audi would have run earth wires through that tube rather than use something in the boot. Also, I have high resistance rather than a total open circuit so I am still thinking corroded connection somewhere.

IIRC I have a ground connection stud near the left hand rear light cluster.

Yes I think your correct as the wires for the tailgate run up the left hand pillar.

Super helpful thank you. The lights and trim screws leak at the moment so I imagine that is corroded a bit.
