Central Locking Electrics

With the wire connected, does the factory immo horn (H8) honk when you lock the car ? It should... If it doesn't then maybe its short circuited - which trips up the central locking pump (V94) which also operates as the anti-theft alarm

With the wire connected again my central locking is now working.........and cars seems to be starting fine. No honking of the horn when locking the car though, but its never done this.....does everyone elses do this???

It should 'honk' alright.

Do remember the standard alarm only alarms if you turn the key in the lock.

If you have an aftermarket alarm and using the keyfob of that to lock and unlock it wont activate the alarm.

Well it doesn't on my Avant ( and I have a thread to prove it and my car has been banned from my local garage )

Yeah i remember reading that thread Jamo.

I lock my car off the key in the lock (no fancy RCL for me, not yet anyhow) I'm guessing the factory alarm has been disconnected...

The factory alarm is V94 - the central locking pump...

Good point Jamo about the key setting the alarm - unless car has factory or aftermarket infrared/radio remote control linked to V94... I bought the VAGparts remote control - integrates with V94 like factory system... When I lock the car with key or keyfob then I get the little 'honk' from H8.
