Hello, Does anyone have a link to an ADU engine loom wiring diagram for an RHD UK RS2? My car won't start. The (old) alarm has had to be bypassed to get the fuel pump to run. My mechanic's electrician thinks there is something else wrong with the wiring but needs to see an engine loom diagram to understand the wiring. I think the wiring has been fine with the car in my ownership for 24 years - until now. Many thanks, Jon

Hi Crasher, My car is a 1995 UK RHD RS2 with factory immobiliser and then with a Clifford 500 alarm and immobiliser fitted since 2001. So the 95 with factory immobiliser sounds like the diagram I need. I don't think that is on S2Central.com. Unfortunately, my car is not near Tractor Dave.Comment

The S2 I have just finished is a 95 with the immobilser and there are a number of discrepancies on the wiring diagram compared to the 92>94 such as obviously no immo wiring although it is pretty simple and in principle, the same as a contemporary Golf 3 plus the A/C fan wiring doesn't match the colour codes.. I have tried to find the 95>96 diagram but without any luck. I will ask my source and see if he can help.Last edited by Crasher; 31 October 2025, 17:30.Comment

Another question but related to trying to resolve the issues with my 1995 UK RHD RS2:
Can anyone please point me to where I can purchase or borrow a diagnostic lead for VDS and/or VAGCOM to connect from the fuse board (2x 2-pin diagnostic connector) to USB-A (laptop)? My mechanic has his laptop with VDS and/or VAGCOM but cannot find his diagnostic lead. Any help gratefully received.

It is called a 2x2, I got mine with my first diagnostic system OMITEC in the early 90’s and I still use it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/CGEAMDY-Con...604285&sr=8-15

No, 2x2 adapters come with a plug which mimics the OBD socket and all OBD systems plug into this but I think VCDS is the only one which would support the codes. Anyone can have VCDS on their lap top, the cable is the software lock so you would need to buy a VCDS cable, VCDS Lite should cover all you need and I don't think Ross Tech worry about people using non genuine interfaces for this, I have my old one somewhere but haven't seen it in a long time.Comment
