I don't have one in front of me, but what I normally end up doing is using a miniature screwdriver down the slot where you can bend the pin locking tab gently to release the pin.
I don't understand the 'two small R clips' you describe.
I don't know either but according to ETKA, A10Q (for an AAN), illustration 971-52, Item 13, the MAF connector is six pin flat connector (for the MAF), PN 022 906 233A and ATP, the same connector as the throttle position potentiometer.
4-pin you say, but the MAF connector is 6 pins (only one is unused). Must be a typo somewhere. Surely these are standard AMP automotive connectors - but I have never tried to source them separately.

Yes, my bad. Or as you guys would say "What a muppet" (Sorry, the illustration/position looked correct).
All I could find quickly was something for the AAN:

The cross reference through ATP shows up A80Q but a V6. When I go the specific 1995 ABY engine harness (Ill. 971-52), only one 6 pin connector shows up and it doesn't seem to be in the right area and is a completely different part no.
