    Headlight problem....Help or advise please

Need some help guys as im not so good with the electrical stuff...

1990 Coupe Quattro with rs2 headlights, fogs, and turns installed by previous owner

I converted the low beams and fog lights to H.I.D. last fall. Drove it fine for 2 months no problems. Stored the car in my garage for winter, starting it up at least once a week. Took the car out for a drive last week and lights worked just fine. Then started it up this week and now the low beams and fogs will not work. The side lights in the fogs and headlights work fine, as well as the high beams and turn signals all work, just the low beams and fogs. I checked the fuses(10 and 11) in the fusebox under the hood and all were fine. I then charged the battery fully thinking maybe it just didn't have the power for the HIDs to start up where they use more juice at first. Didn't help. I then re installed the stock h1 and h3 xenon bulbs into the lights and connected them and they would not light up also, so I don't think its anything to do with the HIDs themselves. I now have the panel off under my steering wheel off but im not really sure what im looking for. Is there one relay that controls both fogs and low beams, but not highs? or is it possible that 2 relays went at the exact same time? or am I just missing something simple? Im kind of lost right now...

Please any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

hmmm no inline fuses or relays added...im thinking it may be the lamp control relay auto check in the aux. relay panel or the ignition switch is shot

The problem doesn't stem from the hids. I know this because I completely disconnected them and put back in the stock h1s in the low beams and h3s in the fogs and still nothing after its all connected back together as originally was.

well after searching and reading for a few hours im fairly certain my problem lies in the headlight switch rather than a relay or the ignition switch. Seems everyone with very similar issues relates the problem back to the headlight switch which is apparently fairly flimsy inside. Tomorrow I will take apart the steering column to have a look and report back on what I find.

            Fixed!

Problem fixed with a new headlight switch from germanautoparts.com for just under $100, not a bad price considering what others wanted. Could have gotten used one probably but would most likely just happen again on another 20 year old switch
