Calling all electrical gurus (+ Wagner EM Nero DP issues)

OK, so last night I finished putting my car back together ready for tuning with Dmitri on Friday. As always there are some issues...

1). Wastegate flexi pipe does not bolt to the downpipe anymore - needs to be moved
2). All the car's lights work, apart from the HID low beam and high beam.
3). Wierd thing is this - the main beam flash DOES work when u pull on the lever!
4). There was once occasion last night when the main beam DID work normally, whilst going round and checking all the lights, then going back it didn't work. All the time you could still pull the light stalk lever and flash would work.

I'm not at all good with electrics. I've checked the fuses and they all seem to be good.
Can I ask for some advice and or checking process to go through to fix these?

    Thanks,

    Lloyd

Flexi sitting too high? Stock DP or custom? Was the turbo further forward too?

Lights wise, check the earths for the HID packs.

@ caterpillar, ignition switch is new maybe 2 months old, so unlikely?

@ Vas, yes I've installed a new K26 wagner EM. I've since learnt that the wagner EM moves the turbo 8mm toward the driver wheel vs. OEM RS2. This is to create the space needed for all the EM bores to be even and the right length. Ergo unless you have a genuine stock RS2 DP you probably need to modify your DP!!

I have the Nero DP and this will NOT work out of the box with a Wagner. Not a good thing when you have just days before tuning.

@ Rusty, thanks. This is good advice I will check ASAP.

Any more ideas on the lights front? I can sort the DP with luck.

Yes my downpipe had to be re-welded and positioned several times to get it in the right place.

It's possibly just the internals of the stalk that are needing cleaned out and re-greased.

a lot of hids wont work if the engine is not on. Mine tend to flicker if the engine is not running

Exactly the same issue I had with the same EM and was told it should not happen on an RS2... which it seems to have done, albeit on an aftermarket DP.

I need to adjust the water line on the underside, as it's not sat quite right and the top water line was also tight, indicating that the turbo had moved outwards compared to the OE EM. The DP modification cost £100 that I hadn't expected to spend on top of a bolt-on EM At least it's a complete animal of an EM :mischeif:

Are there aftermarket water lines for the S2/RS2 that allow a little more movement in the system than the stock solid items?

@ sonic and lloyd - email Wagner and tell him of this problem. He phoned me when I posted up about it and I was told that it sohould not happen but it would seem that you've both had an identical issue to me.

Ditch the OEM flexi and use an aftermarket with the flanges from the OEM, the OEM flexi has a 1" tube in it for flow which is a bit of joke to be honest.

Put the WG in a vice, slip a bit of tube into the end of the flexy and lean on it (in the right direction) Sorted

Pull the plug off the back of the light stalk switch and have a look for a burnt pin.

No need to reweld the downpipe. Just cut the flanges of the flexipipe and use a "normal" flexi pipe instead. I did it like this:
