A wise man can learn more from a foolish question, than a fool can learn from a wise answer.
I see you have learnt something, Dave.

David, we all a make a mess of something now and again, and no one iikes to be reminded of our mistake in "public", but in this instance, I would suggest that you suck it up, and be the bigger person for it, rather than give out to the person who points it out, and who is well intentioned every time.
PRJ, UrS4boy, and Jamo and others have a strong personalies, so if you can't take the friction, don't ask for help.
Kind regards.

AAN, ABY and ADU won't start diagnostics
Yup. From now on, any "can't start my car" threads are going be answered with "Please remove, clean and replace your battery cable ends and retry. Once that step has passed, there is still no start, then the diagnostics can start in earnest."
I have edited my AAN (and ABY and ADU) won't start diagnostic (based on Paul N's original S2 version) to include checking the battery cables and voltage as the first step: http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/210191.phtmlLast edited by UrS4boy; 31 December 2012, 21:29.RS2'd 93 UrS4 5 spd sedan

Actually in Dave's defence, he doesn't think he knows it all. But he is a very good librarian, great at collating information, making it easier for us all to understand, diagnose and fix UrS related problems. He always gives credit to the original owners of the information where he can, unlike some other posters that copy and paste information as if it is their own.
Ignore him and other helpful members here if you wish. But as you have shown, it can waste time and money.
I would take the good advice of David Macspring too.SSComment

just check how many times i've asked for any sort of help since i've been here on the forum
this is why i don't bother asking anything here, people like him
. think they have the right to have a go at other people.

How was he having a go?
He's normally the first one offering advice because he's spent time learning about the problems with these cars and how to fix them.
Its your choice tho, you can either come on here and follow people's advice or head off to a garage and pay over the odds for someone who does not know these cars like enthusiasts do.Comment

Take it on the chin David and move on. Every bit of advice is helpful and everyone here is always willing to help which is the great thing about the forum and why I love everybody on here
Most of all the info here comes from BTDT "Been there done that" and I've enjoyed my time so far learning all about my car which makes me feel a bit better of myself.
Here's to more learning reading about everyone's problems
, I know there will be many more to come knowing these cars

i'm not having it m8.
have been driving these cars for 10 years and i'm still learning,so i will not take any bull s***t from anyone.he thinks he know it all, well that's problem.
sometimes a problem may seem easy when your not the one that have to deal with it.
when ever you take your car to mechanic, does he tell you straight away this is what the problem.no, he does not.first he need to diagnose or investigate.and that what i did,so now problem solved.no skin off anyones nose.[SIGPIC][SIGPIC]/SIGPIC]92 3B pearl white=gone back home to Germany, probably in bits and pieces
