Well a bit of an update and no nearer to solving this issue cleaned every thing that i thought is causing this, the strange thing is when you turn on the ignition and depress the brake pedal it comes up ok and goes out ,then after a couple of yards the light pops up no bleeping i go over a cattle grid and it starts beeping every few minutes and then it shows ok and the light goes out until i go over the next grid and it comes on again and this time it bleeps every few seconds then just shows ok and goes out again over yet another grid and and it all starts again this is in daylight so no lights. When i leave work at night lights on start car light comes on and stays on all the way home bleeping when i cross the cattle grids as i said it's strange as it doesn't do it all the time some days it displays ok and doesn't come on for weeks, i have noticed when i cross the grids it starts when the back of the car goes over them.

So i was wondering if i remove the bulb check thingy in the boot would this solve the issue for now.

I have loads of dash lights out. Only had car for a couple of weeks so not had a chance to do it yet. What type of bulb is it & how many at back of dash. Would be useful to be able to pre buy them from motor factors then only have to take clocks out once and swap them all.

What product are people using to clean electrical joints and seal etc? I usually use WD40 seems to work but is there something out there that is better?

Electrical contact cleaner is the stuff to use.

Yes, but don't you need the ones with the red condoms over them that you get from the Stealers?

Hi. Did you get anywhere with this? Mine has just started this morning, driving me MENTAL!! I HATE THE AUTOCHECK SYSTEM!! MIne throws up the headlight symbol but only when I brake? I've cleaned the rear lights clusters & connectors with contact cleaner & liberally sprayed them with Duck Oil after. It stopped very briefly but started again. I have the usual coupe leak woes so need to reseal the rear lights too. Does the 281 unit ever fault out? I have HID's fitted (several years now) with no issues after the "k" pin tweak. Please help as im currently REALLY FED UP WITH IT!!!
