Guys the avant i recently bought has a rear window fault. Neither will go down..when i press the switch the engine revs dip very slighly as though they are drawing power but they dont move.
I suspect they are stuck through standing. However itls there anything obvious to check like a relay etc. Steven..
Definitely sounds like the motors are stuck, one of mine was like this on the indigo avant. Sometimes a tap on the motor will make them run. If you need a window mech or two I have 2 complete spare sets here
Have you tried seeing if its the switches at fault? Mine wouldnt work so I tried a working front one and they worked so I got new switches and put them in teh doors. Now I have fully working electrics again.
Switches are interchangeable, try pulling the switch apart and use some very fine sand paper to clean the contact points. Both my rears were dead,I found upon looking at them corrosion preventing the contacts closing properly

Pull the rubbers back on the pillars and see if any wires broken
Don't they work from drivers door?
Put washing up liquid between window and rubber, may be stuck there and need freeing off, happens on my type 85 every so often
