Think you're getting mixed up between autocheck and the trip computer.

The trip computer is fed by the small black connector.

Dave, yes - this was the problem I was having - found a link to other wiring pages but haven't found what i need yet...

Linky (Mike - is this yours?)

Mike - thanks, yes - I think I'm getting mixed up, I thought that autocheck and trip computer would be fed by the same plug as it all comes up on the same display.

So, trip computer is fed by the black plug in my first pic?

Can anyone confirm which pin or wire colour is feeding the trip computer with the consumption info? Could it be the yellow wire?

      Thanks again for everyone's input!

            Fixed.. !!!!!!

One of the easiest fixes ever - problem with the plug where the wire colour changes from blue with black stripe to yellow...

Plugged together all good... not sure when it came unplugged...

Good man, glad you finally found the problem!! Just in time for me getting onshore tomorrow too. I wonder if the offending plug is what is causing the same issue on my car?!!

Where exactly is this plug? Hard to tell from the pics, passengers side footwell perhaps? It is a 3B you have isn't it?

Mines a 3B yes, but with ABY ECU... plugs are under the steering wheel, amongst the mess around the fusebox...

I found one side of the plug pretty quickly, the blue and black wire and could buzz this to the ECU plug easily, finding the other plug took rather a long time. Couple of hours to be honest... it was stuffed behind carpet and sound deadening material - but I wasn't too sure what I was looking for. It is confusing that there is a colour change at the join...
This was the consumption feed direct from ECU to trip computer. Speed signal takes the same route but different colour wires and plugs...

                        Good luck!

Mikes site with the wiring diagrams was invaluable for helping me get to the bottom of this. Wasn't really a particularly big issue, just annoying.

Thanks to everyone for their help - especially Mike and Dave
