I too am keen to know the answer to that question.

@Jonas: How do you intended to connect the VAGcom lead and still maintain the water protection that the fuse box lid provides?

    Cheers

Get a obd coneector from the scrappy and splice it into your loom - then you can have the connector under the dash. And you won't need the 2x2 adapters

You can nicely test for example acceleration from 50km/h to 250km/h with ECU channel measurements, if running ABY, AAN or ADU - 3B measurement channel 00 is a little bit clumsy visually.

One limitation is that if connection drops between PC and ecu you have to drop RPM under 2000 to reconnect. Run the test with datalog mode and then open the data log foile with excel or notepad and pick there the times and speeds. And see the intermidiate times for 100km/h, 150km/h and 200km/h. Let the co-driver run the pc....

Well my plan was to splice into the 2x2 connectors somewhere and get a cord into the car.

My pc can been seen here:

Or do a search on the forum.

Interesting idea that any more details?

                    Found this site

                    http://pinouts.ru/Devices/car_obd2_pinout.shtml

                    Pin Signal Description

                    2 J1850 Bus+
                    4 CGND GND
                    5 SGND GND
                    6 CAN High J-2284
                    7 ISO 9141-2 K-LINE Tx/Rx
                    10 J1850 Bus-
                    14 CAN Low J-2284
                    15 ISO 9141-2 L-LINE Tx/Rx
                    16 +12v Battery power

                    So.....

upper row counting from left to right : 4-ground (bat.-) 7-K-line
lower row again counting left to right: 7-L-line 8-bat.+

So i presuming it's only these pins need from the OBD-II

                    4 - Ground
                    7 - K Line
                    15 - L Line
                    16 - +12v

The black wire in the 2x2 adapter is 12+ & 12- the white is K-Line and L-Line

On the white the top with slant from left to right is K-Line with vertical line on left side
Bottom with Slant right to left is L-Line with vertical line on left side

                    Anbody confirm the above please?

Right need to find a scrapped VAG car now to knick the connector and test my theory!

Who did the wiring and where did you tee off the original loom?

Why not get hold of the 2 connectors as per the fuse box, run some wires from inside the car plug them in to the existing connectors and do it like that.
