Interior Light Problems

I'm pretty sure when I got the car that these were working normally, with switch in the normal position, dome light would come on when opening the doors and also I think, when switching off the ignition. It would go off when locking the door, or after a few seconds if not locking..
The situation now is that the only way to get the light on is to switch to the always on position, then switch it off again manually, (so to speak)

Now one thing that may be relevant is that the drivers side door lock broke and I had the whole door apart to fix it, I'm wondering if I've broken something or missed a connection in the door? Its possible the problem dates back to then.. The drivers side window switches don't light up either.. (could be blown bulbs though) the window and mirrors work fine.

Circuit diags, current tracks, relay locations, and advice/opinions gratefully received

Not really sure on how the light should behave cos i have an alarm on mine + the factory fitted one. So it could be different? I have had a dig arround in my files and found this schematic? I thing V94 (ithink it was) is the c/l motor and interior light delay so it could be sommat to do with having the door in bits? Sorry i don't have time to studdy the schematic or i would, but i can hear the caves calling!! (goin caving today!)

Just thinking, probably the courtesy light circuit would be similar or the same as a standard 20v coupe? If so the normal Haynes manual should do it, do I see a trip to Halfords in my future?

I had a look at a diagram in my 100/200 Haynes book, I imagine the system will be similar, it certainly looks like it won't work if the door switch is open cct. When the door is locked it lifts the ground from the relay/delay unit. (I think)

But where is this relay? If I could find it I could try grounding that pin and therefore prove it's the central locking switch before taking the door apart. It's not mentioned on the cover of the fuse box and not on the sticker on the underneath of the drivers side glove shelf. Had a look on S2 Central, cant read Norwegian

Of course it _could_ be a dodgy relay anyway.

Got the circuit diags, thanks Mike, the plot thickens...

I was hoping the diags would give me the pinout of the relay, I already knew it was in aux carrier position 3, but that position seems to have another relay in it, or the pinout is different.. I'm assuming position 3 is third from the left in the middle row, as it says on the the diag on S2 Central.
My relay has pins 30 and 31 and 86 etc as usual but also HLS and HLT or something similar.

Closing the relay by hand has no effect on the lights.

When I was trying to measure for voltage on the relay socket, I touched one of the pins and the fan cut in!

Position 1 has a relay with a fuse on top, position 2 is empty and position 3 has relay"305".

Is it possible to check this relay part no to see if it actually is the courtesy light relay?

An electro clutch would be for the AC compressor clutch, That's probably why when you touched some pins, the fan kicked in! when you turn the AC on, the fan will always come in. That relay should be in position number 4. The interior light relay should be right next to that one, it will have one of these four part numbers on it:

447 947 115C
447 947 115D
