I have a Forge 007 - supplied by Lee at a very good price.
It is worth replacing the hoses at the same time - once again Lee suppled some silicon hoses for the job.

Just spoke to Forge Motorsport and ordered a FMCL007P diverter valve in black.

The chap mentioned that the stock Bosch S3 valve was designed for less boost pressure than my car, and it sounded like it was developing symptoms of starting to fail.
The 'honk' I have heard from cold (so far anyway) because the pressure is higher with cold air.

He also asked what the engine boosts at, I said 12 psi (for a standard RR engine) and so he specified a 'yellow' spring (10-15 psi) for the new Forge valve.

        Hopefully this will sort things!

S3 valve is far stronger than the S2 one. And faster acting. The Bosch valves normally tend to last a good length of time on high boost cars. Choice is yours at the end of the day.

            Hi,

have since one week a S3 DV on my RS2, its not so loud , but very fast and cheap.
Its ugly black plastic, not noisy , but very good. I have 1,9 bar.

if i would be rich: HKS double piston, double valve: 390.-US Dollar

So which DV is best for 3b s2? I was thinkin of forge fmcl 007p, but is it worth buying? Can someone list all possible valves that fits and works so it would be easy me to find a one. And yes i did a search but didnt get a clear answer.

              -thanks

Just fitted my new Forge today ......car definately running better, with a smoother idle and take up from rest is easier and stronger too. So there may well have been an issue developing with the S3 one I had fitted.

So far so good, must be clamping better.
Develops strong boost and does gives a little noise when lifting off under boost (not a 'whoosh' as such and only really noticable with the window open).

When I ordered it the chap said I needed a yellow spring for 12psi boost pressure. Looking on their website they have the green one listed for 5-15psi and the yellow for 15-23psi, so will check with them this is right in the week.
But seems to work well, reaching nearly 0.9kg/cm2 (12.8 psi) on the boost gauge.

Car still not 'attacking' though as much as it should mid-range & top end......though I reckon its a seperate issue such as leads or inlet-temp sensor ..gonna get the codes pulled I think.

Fitted my Forge yesterday too & the mysterious 'foghorn' noise has indeed disappeared. Thanks to the guys at The Autopool for that - I was getting really fed up not knowing the cause.

It doesn't chatter on lift-off but does make a wheezy type whistle. Is this normal with the Forge DV ?

It's boosting well now though - at least 1.8 bar and that's with ordinary 95RON Shell. I'll have to get it on the rollers again
                    Now RS2'less

I'm not sure - I didn't realise you could get different springs until you just posted about it. I'll have to ask them tomorrow....

There might be a little coloured sticker on the box the valve came in that shows what spring it has.........

Ah - It looks like I've got the green spring. I reckon I should have the blue spring (23-30 psi). I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.

So that has cured that mystery noise then?? Well, if the thing was chattering like that when it came in, I would have changed it. Glad its sorted now.
