Sounds good man. I'll be interested in seeing how your car turns out. Nothing special about my setup. I'll be disclosing all of the information about it. Its all about good planning I think. Trying to figure out a tilton twin disc Cerametalic clutch right now.
Okay, guys..what do you think is possible..with a gt40r? how much power(motor, not wheels) are realistic with this turbo? when does it spool? and the same for the gt42R..
'94 (R)S2 Sedan
Engine:
81.4mm Forged Mahle Pistons, Pauter Rods, PKM Crankshaft V2, PKM Head V3 , PKM IM,CM Intercooler,Special Headbolts, SQ MAF,Samco Hoses, GT2Injectors, Dahlbäck Racing EM, KKK27 #9 Hotside, CM 76mm SS Exhaust, no cat
Thank you, no I can see my self what kind of powers these bb turbos are for, don't trust theyr own announsements (ie. rs2 48mm is good for 350 horses, my holset has 60mm wheel and 650 horses has been dynoed from similar etc etc)
Generally the rated power on garrett turbo's is less then that is attainable on dynos, but I dont really care for dynos anyway. I'm just looking for high trap speeds in the 1/4 mile to prove the power I am making
I'm looking for a 84 4kq to put this monster motor in. I'm going to completely strip it and throw a cage in it. I think 9's are attainable if I can keep everything together. This is a few years out at this point tho
Divide the lbs/min with 0,069 to get cfm's instead of lbs.
Multiply with 1,1, 'cause compressors exceed their maps with appr. 10% (empirical)
Then to get the horsepower, divide cfm's with cfm/ratio You know people have got from the type of engine You are looking at. In 20vt case I'd say 1,6 is pretty accurate.
Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspirated
think the gt 4202r are TOO BIG . the full power will come too late.and the turbo will nearly go to the bad side of the chart
repo@ what did you mean??? or??
Basically what Repo was saying is that you multiply the lbs/min flow on the compressor map by ~ 9.96 and that will give the horsepower capability of the turbo.
The gt4202R is big, but I am running a good sized motor behind it. Here is a dyno chart of the same turbo on a 2.3L evo 4g63:
