Supposedly Newman makes the cams for some 'other' well known sellers, my brother has spoken to him ages ago and he certainly seemed clued up on the subject.

I think piper only have off the shelf cams for the 10v engine, kentcams don't list anything
for 5 cylinder audis, may have done them in the past though, otherwise it would be a custom job from either of them-just thinking out loud

I emailed Kent and they asked if it was a special version of the 4 pot 1.8 20v despite me giving them all the info on the car. Not a good start... Some regrinds would be nice, £200 a set normally. Wonder if they have any profiles on file?

Catcams wear out. Seen a lot of worn cats, in I5's and other motors. Including my ex opel.

Never seen a worn Schrick, and I have installed quite a few.

Schrick also does custom profiles, long lead time though..

Had two sets of Cat Cams(mechanical) with wear issues, or rather one set of cams and the other time it was the lifters. Now they use a new hardening process and new coated lifters(mechanical). Cat Cams replaced everything under warrenty.

The Schrick Cams we've been buying for the 10v's recently have all been Factory Audi Camshaft blanks turned to the requested profile... Even have the Audi logo and part number.

Strange considering both their blanks come from the same factory in Turkey alongside several other main brands.

Here's the Schrick Catalogue page for Audi

The 20v's and tech details are at the very bottom

Ignore the prices, what with the pound being a bit limp.
