Have you removed the front snub mount? As I believe it allows this

The rubber was hard to find, needed to find such diameter of rubber that there were same insidediameter of pipe to make it heat resistant, and those big washers, the idea was to save money and not to use polyurethane(?) but to make it last the beating, good support was needed, and to kill 2 birds at once, the pipe under and upper shielding the rubber makes the 5mm thick plate very rigid.

dont you get engine sound transfer in to the chassie?

i took off the front snub mount when i put on the front mount intercooler. that was the real reason i used the mustang mounts. feels great i have no complaints.

sorry to late answer, forum doesnt any more remind you have a reply..

damn it, it was 3.5" and there is 3mm room to gearbox and 4mm room to the steering rod? what ever it is named that turns the wheels, I had also 2 inch pipe from wastegate, it blowed under car, no silencer. It was fun to istall it, drop it down, turn 3/4 counter clock wise, then drop few inches more than 1/2 round clockwise and drop it into place.
