I really want to switch to a GT2871 turbo but i wonder if i still can use the software for the K26/27 turbo ??? I suppose that shouldnt be a problem since the two turbos are good for almost the same hp-numbers.

Dang that 3071 looks like a monster judging by the compressor map. What hotside did you go for Corey ?
I might have to play with the trusty turbo calculator today again - just to compare the theoretical max numbers on the 2871 versus the 3071. Looks like care is needed on the 3071 mapping to prevent it from surging.
Watch this space.....

Did you find anytime to play with the turbo calculator Paul? (p.s. money coming your way in a week and a bit for bits)
can i ask what is the verdict between a K26/27/29 and a GT3071?
What is the easiest of a change from a stock RS2 turbo to a bigger one, with the use of the RS2 manifold, and most of the rest other parts?
Im thinking of a new turbo in the future but i would like the less hassle as possible. Is the K26/27/29 the route,or is the garrett turbo as easy way to go as the KKK one?
The K26/27/29 will be alot less work. AFAIK it's pretty much a straight replacement for the K24-7200. Only the compressor intake pipe would have to change.
With the Garrett turbo everything has to be changed/adapted. It has a different manifold flange, so the exhaust manifold would have to be changed. As would the oil and water lines.

Unless you consider a KKK/Garrett hybrid.
Not true Stu, the GT3071 and GT2871 refer to the centre housing and compressor, they are bought with the K26 turbine housing which is a straight fit on the S2 / RS2 exhaust manifold if specified on ordering.
The Garret is way Superior ...
S4 Sledan go with the 3071 u can run high boost at high rev's and the best thing is the turbo starts to spool up at around 2500...
If u use the car everyday then go for 2871.
Dont forget that you will have to change the hose and pipe connections for garrett turbos and also the Down pipe will need adjustments or a new one.
Dont trust that word bolt on, as the turbo does bolt on but all the other stuff doesnt.

Its my daily driver yes,but im afraid the 2871 turbo and the surging stuff ive read about. I can live with the turbo getting full boost from 3000 rpms. Thats no problem. I know about the hose connections,im buying a water/oil-line kit as well, and i already have a 3" intake boot too. The exhaust will be new as well as the downpipe

Cant view the pics..........need password and username. But im going to use a stainless steel tubular manifold with a custom-made downpipe that is 4" straight after the turbo,at the 90 degree bend down it goes down to 3,5" and then down to 3" right before the drive axle joint. Then its 3" exhaust all the way with one race-cat and one silencer at the back. Thats the plan
