hi i have a audi 90 quattro 20v and i am putting in a s2 aby -93 engine and i have problem in how im gonna do with the electrical things. i have a motronicbox with harness to the s2 engine, and my question is what is the easiest way to get all this to work. ????????
wabtheking hes BTDT a few times by now, Or try the ES2 list http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/es2 its a bit quite these days but the old posts provide plenty of reading.

i have read through all the threads in the link that you gave me and i got good information, but i need more information in how im gonna connect the new s2 motronicbox ?? wich wire who is givÃÂng power supply to the box?? and if i need to connect the s2 motronicbox to something more than the engine (ignition, fuel..)????
Ok i've not done it myself but will be in the summer, i have all the bits (apart from an airbox ) and from what I’ve looked at its fairly straight forward. My understanding is as follows,
The engine is a complete loom that goes through the bulkhead under the battery and connects into the ECU, from there it goes over and plugs into the bottom of the fusebox for common power etc. So in theory unplug and remove 7A wiring loom, and install and plug in the S2 loom.
When you remove the existing 7A wiring loom write down everything you disconnect and label all the connections, fitting the S2 loom should then be the reverse procedure. Its not something I’m worried about, if needs be i can resort to wiring diagrams and figure it out.
Over the last six months I’ve managed to source every part i need and compared 7A to 3B to ABY and ADU parts to see what the difference was. If you’re not sure on anything just ask as I’ve probably asked those questions before in my quest to get a full mental picture of everything.
I have a list as long as your arm of other bits that are different, alternators, throttle cable, exhaust, carbon canister, fuel pump, etc etc. The more i think of and the more i compare the two cars in etka the more differences i found.
As Bry said if your doubtful you need to think about whether you want to do it yourself, by the time i finish rebuilding the engine and install it i will be a grey haired stress ball with no money to his name If tinkering with engines wasn’t a hobby i would have paid somebody else to do it.
As mentioned Wab and Azman did the conversion last weekend on Azmans car. They have BTDT experience, and managed to do it in 3 days

The loom is a mare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took us (WAB and I) a good bit of jiggery (sawing) and pokery ( pushing and pulling) to get the looms out of both cars and then some.
Will is probably the best man to ask on this but I would compare the two looms as Will and I only took one side of the loom of (the other side connects in to two connectors) which made life a tad easier. Just make sure that all earths are used as this was the cause of my speedo not working. It will test you and you are best of having someone else at hand so that one of you is in the car and the other out so that wires don't get caught.
What Wab did when the loom was out was to tape each section of the loom so that it was easier to get in than out.

No offense but if you are asking questions this fundamental then I strongly suggest you give the task to someone with the right skills and experience.
Most mechanics I know are OK with uhhhh mechanical things, but many get fazed by electrical things in my experience... and believe me the Motronic system and its wiring loom are plenty complicated enough to give experienced technicians with electrical skills a sore head.
My site http://s2central.net gives some useful Motronic schematic info, but its far from a complete story. Factory wiring info is hard to find as well - even if you do have an account on audi.erwin.de
In summary - get quotes from the likes of Will (WabTheKing), MRC (S2 meisters in Banbury) and anyone else you see good reports of on the forum for this kind of work.
thank you guys im gonna fix with my car in the holiday and use all good advices from you guys. i will stick in with information how it goes and maybe ask some more questions =)

It's archive of non existing anymore site, however, dare to click on links, and sometimes miracle happens . ABY wiring is not so very differend from AAN and ADU. I would suggest to luck at it when stuck, and finding the right wire with multimeter. "Similar" engine wiring schematics can be very helpfull to speed up the process .
