I have done that and as you say patience is a must, on the 3B the battery tray is right nelow the hole to remove and refit the loom, but what a pig of a job as you have to remove the steering dumper as well to give you more room and that is a job and an halfAelredComment

hi i didnt need to remove my dashboard =) so next thing i got to do is to connect the wires to the safebox. i have marked up everything from the old loom, so now what i had understand from you guys i just need to put the wires with the same color at the same places as the old. i have a question and that is, there is one wire from the old 7a loom who is a thick red one and connects with a black connector to the safebox, and the new loom doesnt have anyone red so thick with the same connector??
have a nice holiday

Ok cool, shame i dont get my new loom until end of april
Could ave done that mod this weekend! Need to get myself some coils to throw in there. Just to make sure... I take it the A4/S3/S4 coils push into the head OK onto the spark plugs?? I tried one from the old mans Passat V5 and that doesnt pass into the head

On the 3B main loom going below the fuse board there is a 4 or 5 way red flat connector, that connects to some further loom, (behind the auxillary relays) but on the ABY there is no such red connector on the main ECU/engine loom, has anyone got some info on this?
Your help will be greatfully received.
Further to this red connector T5h I found out that this is related to the Air Con, so if the engine wiring loom that you are fitting does not have it means it came out of a car with no Air Con.AelredComment
