Overboost protection, please help...!

Timing was absolutely spot on, although the leads are a little bit old looking, and are beginning to crack... maybe this has an effect...(I have ordered some 7A ones as they are cheaper...)
I have changed back to the 3B standard airbox, and it works perfectly... does this mean I can't improve the intake...? maybe I can't use an ABY or RS2 version either? wonder why not.... I am going to post a thread about this specifically to see if anyone knows why this could be...!
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, at least I know the rest of it is reasonably healthy...!

Hold on, you mean you've changed back to the stock airbox and its not going into overboost any more?

I just wonder if the improved airflow caused an increase in vaccuum in the intake pipes leading to them collapsing and boost protection activating.
Suggest you try the ABY/ABU airbox again in case you missed a boost leak (I know you checked).
Consider Samco/SFS intake pipes to replace ?original old OEM pipe.

Exactamundo... No overboost protection problems... Talk about pulling my hair out with the above problem, I am sure you realise...!

Sorry for being sarcastic, but what are you trying to do improve or downgrade? Normaly it should be like that, that stock intake is better than cones, and other space saving stuff. At least my friends gained back about 10 horses with chipped 20v's and daihatsu's 12v's when compared cone to the stock box and filter (yes, daihatsu lost 5 horses when running without filter ...). The only reason cone filter is suitable is space saving when putting large turbo. It's not the filter generating negative pressure (at least on S4, proved by experiments of Autospeed). Of course it's IMHO.
