  • Sluggish when cold

The behaviour of the old girl has been a bit naughty when cold, with lumpy running under power and the need to give the throttle a good prod to get going. It's all gravy when warm. Starting behaviour seems a bit off too, where once it fired in to life it's more of a cough now but still catches first time.

Culpritsulprits are lambda warm-up and MAF. Will check the codes and do some digging but in the meantime, any ideas?

No codes so cleaned the MAF connector again and checked it all over. Seems better.

Need to fit my new pins! And buy a new MAF I think

Bad lambda heating. Had similar troubles when cold. When it warmed up, went as usual. Replaced the probe and the issue was gone.

Yes, lambda heating is an option. I wonder about coil pack too but tbh I think that would be worse when running. Will grab a new lambda (again) and try that. Gen Bosch lambda has done maybe 5k...

Oddly, this seems to have sorted itself out and has spat out the utterly useless 00561 code. Not really sure what cured it, as I've not replaced anything
