I've had my 93 ABY Avant for over 3 years now. I had been told the belt and pump had been changed when i bought the car but after checking i could not find proof of it being done in the documents. As peace of mind i want to change the belt, water pump and tensioner. Am i best sticking with Genuine Audi parts and if so where is the best place to get them?

I would recommend parts from INA, SKF and Contitech. The same products as Audi sells but for half the price.
I also would change the toothed belt pulley on the crankshaft, they break very often!
Be aware that you need a special tool (VAG 2084) to get the big screw in the crankshaft opened.'95 Audi S2 Avant

Thanks guys! I was planning on making a locking tool up if I can't find one. I was reading that the bottom pulleys sometimes fracture. I think I will get that changed while I'm doing this. Bloody alternator gave up the ghost heading home from work today so will be another job to Do!
Will I need a new crank bolt or can I reuse the one I Have?
