I tried to start on the starter and without sparkplugs ,, for 20 sec burst 4 times .. then the starter was smoking hot ,, then i start the eninge and the oil pressure came directly ,, som my advice to peolple ,, dont be afraid to start on the key ,, the day before i took away the spark plugs and sprayed a oil spray in cylinders and turn over the manualy. And assebly lube on the cams. I would not run the engine more then 6-7 sec if you dont have oil pressure by then.
          That is just my opinion

The feeling was the engine needed higher revs to build pressure.

When i was "priming" my two, totally rebuilt engines i got oil pressure without starting the car after running the starter for about 30sec (without spark plugs/fuel).
When i assembled my engines (to help with the oil pressure build up) i lubed up the gears in the oil pump with "assembly lube" and top up the oil filter with oil. Of course assembly lube on all the necessary parts also.
Maybe the oil pump wasn't lubed/filled so it had to get some more revvs to suck up the oil from the pan?.. My opinion is that it is much safer to get some oil pressure before you put load on the bearings. Good luck with the car

I got a tip from a friend of mine, who works as a mechanic in Toyota dealership, to overfill the engine with oil so that the oilpump is drenched in oil before the first start up.
                1. Overfill the engine with oil, so that the oil level is well above the oilpump
                2. Crank the engine without spark or fuel, so it won't start, and see oil pressure
                3. Once oil pressure is there, drain exccessive oil out and go for a proper start
This is how I (finally) got oilpressure relatively easy and I think is safe for freshly built engine.

Is it a good option to use a starter for a priming purpose? The engine is completely rebuilt on the engine stand. I want to be sure that the oil pump will make some oil pressure before I put the engine in the car and see if there isn't any leak.

You can back fill the oil pump by removing the oil pressure sender and then syringe some oil into the hole in the block. This will run down the gallery into the pump and give you oil pressure pretty quickly on the starter motor.

Oh, don't forget to put the sender back in before cranking the engine

I was thinking of pressurize/prime the system with thé oil through turbo inlet/outlet hose

I removed and modify an old oil pump sender, welded stainless steel fitting And IT working like charm.. the problém is how to remove IT without spitting thé oil . IT Will be challenge.
