The TT that I'm currently putting back to it's former glory has been remapped, and I want to put it back to a factory map. Now I like my cars factory car spec, however for this car it's not the main reason I want to put it back to standard. Someone has put a crackle map on the car. I never heard it before as I was being very gentle on the throttle, but now that I have a bit of confidence in the car I been putting my foot down a little and on lift off all I can hear is the **** end farting away. Now I'm a grumpy old git and just don't like it, don't get me wrong it goes very well but it's just so irritating. You just don't need pops & bangs when going into Sainsbury's!
I've been given a link to a flashing tool https://obddiagnostic.co.uk/product/...u-chip-tuning/
Also a link to a forum where I can find the mapping software. http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/
I've also been given the stock map for the part number of my ECU. There was talk about checksum validated flash and other issues I could run into. Is this fairly straight forward or an I walking into a world of pain? As I don't want to brick the ECU and have to by another and sort all the immobiliser out.
Car is a 2003 TT with a 225 BAM engine
Any advice on this would be welcome
