I have a buddy who may be able to fix your Motronic ECU, he knows the common failure modes and has done a few for me and others. I need him to look at my RS2 spec ECU as it went wrong while on loan recently (otherwise I'd be happy to lend it to you)
PM me if you want me to enquire about fixing yours.

I had an old aby ecu repaired in ivybridge if you want the details. He’s an expert and does all main dealer work too

I may take you up on that offer. I have ordered the Maxxecu now anyway as it's a better option for future tuning.

Is that Tamar Electronics? I have used them in the past and didn't have much luck.

Yes it was tamar electronics, that’s a shame. Are you still aiming to get the car started to see if the car is still salvageable?

I should have the Maxxecu next week so should get it running and then start the big strip down for restoration. :-)

With an Audi S2/RS2 engine if it turned over smoothly and past a leak down test I'd have 99.9% confidence it would be fine, the six speed box's are also virtually impossible to break. Unlike newer cars.

That said your way better off going for the Maxxecu as it is now impossible to get Motronc live mapped properly in the UK.

The car had lost its clutch after being standing but thankfully after bleeding it came back, what a fun job changing the clutch slave must be! Hard enough to bleed it

Turn steering full left, remove gear linkage (one 10mm nut) and its quite easy. Work from top.
