Hi Baz
There's a lot of wiring diagrams on S2Central, I can't link direct to them as it's an old school website written in frames so you'll have to navigate to the appropriate pages.
Choose Technical Data from the menu on the left then Electrical systems / Wiring and schematics / ADU or ABY
Should look like this.

Hi Newsh, i have seen some of the info there thanks. The info i downloaded from Audi was helpful but still not accurate, shows 2 x relays for the immo and the car i have here has a link in one position and fuel relay in the other!

Can anyone recommend where i can get the ECM tested? Tried a few places but no luck so far.
thanksComment

Fuel relay and that link are usually up top under the bonnet.
The immob stuff may be down below in the secondary relay carrier under the dash.Comment

Actually, trying to remember when I completely deleted the immob system from an S2Avant, I have a feeling the relay was under the dash but not in the carrier. Might be wrong.Comment

Just a thought, if someone tried to start the car with a jump pack then there's a diode that can blow in the ECU. Easy fix and the details are on here somewhere.
Otherwise it's worth carefully checking the valve timing incase a keyway on the bottom (or top) pulley has broken. This is surprisingly common due to people using rattle claim on the cam and crank bolt when changing the belt. If the timing is even slightly out the car won't start.
RS2 cambelt setup is weird, the marks don't actually line up, they have to be 1/2 a tooth “off” in a certain direction. Others will chime in on this .Comment

Yes, RS2 timing is quite peculiar. I'm just doing an RS2 re build at the moment. Check my thread for timing pics. It also has a different timing belt, top pulley and water pump.
Post 177 below shows top timing mark when engine is tdc.

One of the faults that vcds picks up from the immo module is that the warning light is open circuit, i've probably wasted a lot of time checking other stuff before realising it could be the immo.
I have no C/L or elec windows/sunroof so comfort module is probably under water! I think that's my next job. Is it in the front footwell like the later Audis?
thanksComment

No. Fortunately not. Windows sunroof etc ate controlled by a large rectangular relay under the dash on rhd car. Might be passengers side on your lhd car? Central locking pump is inside boot on right side under petrol filler hose. That might be wet as it sits quite low.Nothelle S2 Avant

Are you sure the coil pack modification is wired correctly and working or could that be the source of your no spark?
Yes, it toggles the K line.
The immobiliser circuit is in an off-white plastic housing adjacent to the steering column.
The immobiliser won't prevent the engine from starting but it will prevent the engine from running.
These cars are too early to have a comfort module.
