My VDO boost gauge arrived today, and I have done a search on fitting it ,but there seems to be a few differant ideas.I have the pod for the centre vent, and wondered if anyone can tell me what else I might need, or direct me to a how to.
Im glad you posted this, as I will soon be in the very same position
I hope not, as I have not sent you a VDO gauge
As for fitting, most people go the centre vent route, with the power taken from the aux gauges and the vacuum pipe connected to the ECU pipe (saves going through the bulkhead)
There are loads of threads around on this and also lots people at the RR session will have this setup, so if you are going, you can have a snoop around.

Am I not allowed to buy a gauge from somewhere else and fit it there?
Absolutely not....I now own the rights to all boost gauges don't cha know, as I have supplied 28 to various forum members.....making me the Boost gauge king .....and don't you forget it
Now, how many 'real' boost gauges can I put you down for?

Just got mine fitted, works really nice, I'm missing my blue led though, the blue light won't shine through the red filters in the gauge I guess. I'll have to wire in the bulb (sorry, lamp?) that came with it. Which strangely has a green filter over it..
The pressure connector had me confused for a while, my previous gauge just had a push in connector with a ring to release it, once I worked out which way the olive went round I was ok though. I'm getting -0.5 on idle, back to the stop on overun, and just under 2Bar max at WOT.
