Hi guys.

Right fitted an S2 airbox yesterday no probs. put a paper filter in it no probs.

Just driving home from work and gave it a bit of right foot and as soon as the 4boost guage hit 10psi. BANG like the car hit a brick wall!!!!!! So tried again and it did the same in all 2 to 4th. So stopped and took the filter out ( I know but had to try something) And hey presto no probs but didn't get teh same boost level!!!!! Stopped at 10psi instead of the usual 15-16psi (a bar!!) So any clues as to what teh F is going on.....
I migth ahave a go later at putting the old cone filter back on and see if I get the boost level back.
Other tahn air flow what could it be guys. I haven't played with anything onther than the air box (non pressure side of the turbo) and have ahd a quick check of all the pressure side and all is on good and tight.......

Have you disturbed the boost pipes anywhere when fitting the new airbox. It sounds like you have introduced a leak when fitting the new box....

Been over them thismorning and all is good. No leaks around, can't hear the slightest hiss of a leak. only thing I forgot to check was the vaccum pipes...Will do that this avo when I wake up. Just seems strange that it behaves differently without the filter in the box???

you'lll need to delete/remove the overboost error you've probably logged in the ecu ecu,unless you've already done so ?

ABY or 3B a/box? Which maf-turbo hose you using, aby? I sometimes had this problem when fitted aby box to 3b, it stretched the maf-turbo hose causing it to collapse under full boost.

Benn out and had a play this avo, right, replaced old filter and system back onto the car, took neg off the battery for 10 mins and went out for a drive, upon using the loud pedal the car seemed to get a bit hesitant and blow a few pops of white smoke and pops out of the exhaust
Not good or fun.

forgot to sy feels like it is misfiring when hesitant or may just be me trying to find something to blame to fix the problem......

That will be the emergency-loop kicking in.
Did you do a pressure test of the boost-system?

I had a problem of the MAF connector having a dirty connection this gave me the brick wall/kangaroo/overboost effect. i cleaned the contacts and re-set the ECU. presto no more problems.

Actually they do look pretty grotty. What did you use to clean them?
