Hello all, just to clarify, the ECU certainly does control boost pressure, our 1.9BAR spring gives essentially 13psi of boost base (remember, that's 1.9 BAR Absolute, or .9 atmospheric), all the boost above this level is controlled by the Motronic ECU, which we've re-mapped to give the targeted boost levels safely and accurately.
To my knowledge, the RS2 uses a 3.8 BAR regulator, thus the need to upgrade to the 4.0, if you have a 4.0 for whatever reason, then youre all set.

Is that 100% the spring rate is 1.9 bar absolute?Hello all, just to clarify, the ECU certainly does control boost pressure, our 1.9BAR spring gives essentially 13psi of boost base (remember, that's 1.9 BAR Absolute, or .9 atmospheric), all the boost above this level is controlled by the Motronic ECU, which we've re-mapped to give the targeted boost levels safely and accurately.

That makes a hell of a difference if it is because the ones i've seen marketed aren't marked as absolute.Comment

1.9 BAR atmospheric is about 28psi, so the real question is, if in fact were supplying such a spring, how we're magically lowering boost from 28 to 23, now that's a skill!

now we all know why psi is insufficient as a unit without reference, unless...how about psig and psia??? psi boost is usually interpreted as gage pressure, but when bar is referenced as a unit, boost may or may not be added to the unit, and this is where the confusion lies. what to assume if there is no modifier? well, i say absolute because my audi digital display shows my boost pressure this way, not gage pressure.Comment
