I would love to see bulletproof evidence of 1000hp taken out of stroker with 144mm rods.
Even 500hp sounds too much.
And no, one 1000hp pull on dyno, before/while explosion is not evidence.Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspiratedComment

So the above engine is a 95.5mm crank in a standard 220mm block?
Different kind of stroker works the same but reduced rpm limit http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15035
Depends Newsh, what kind of stroker are you looking for? the 220mm standard or the diesel 236mm tall block?Comment

Wrong!!!!! Jonus have done it twice.
Once in 2006 with the old 1065hp, with racefuel/nos with the engine in the old green 90q
Once in 2007 with 1008hp, e85 without nos and 1255hp with nos/racefuel. Actual the highest measured hp was 1285hp, but they had to abandon that pull because it leaned out. They made the 1255hp pull later same day with an extra fuel pump in the system.
I know KRB had a 1033hp pull, e85 without nos, but that ended as you say with explosion and broken crancshaft.
But they are all "tall blocks" (TDI)
Both in VS Motors Dyno.Last edited by magarv; 2 November 2007, 09:45."Ring addicted"

Oh come on Jamo, you know you want to sell it to me
I need to start doing the research but to start with I need to chose between the diesel and crank or the stock block with crank and rebore and what rods/pistons etc..
Iceland man are you selling? Or just bragging??

Yes, tall block is the key here. Tall block requires long rod. 144mm is not considered as such.
144mm rod and 95.5 stroke crank are not compatible. Most certainly not for 1000hp, sad but true.Everything less than 2 bar is considered to be naturally aspiratedComment

I'm leaning towards tall block but not entirely sure of the pros and cons, I guess there's more mods and fiddling about with the tall block..
I want big torque and midrange.Comment

Give me a shout it you want, your block choice is going to be key and how much you want to spend.
If you want to use your standard 220mm block I would advise a 92.8mm crank from 034 and go the way of this and you keep your rev range http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4966
I don't like the short piston compression height that is required to run the 95.5 in the 220mm block.Comment
