All IMVHO of course. I just don't like spoiling the OEM interior...

Check all vac pipes on and around the IM. I blew one of these pipes off during ADI and car was only giving emergency boost (?) on the way home. Re-attached the hose and Robert is your mothers brother.

But you should have one for diagnostic purposes. It's a very valuable tool.

True thats how I knew mine was down on power, even if you have one and hide it somewhere say the glovebox or something and only use it when needing to check.

Mine was missing slightly on idle as well.

So it looks as though I need to find myself a boost gauge from somewhere pronto.

Also, I have been asking around for the best part of 2 years on here, does anybody know how to get ahold of VAGCOM software? It would be handy as I own two audis, my brother has one and quite a few of my friends have VAG cars.

The car has been left at home today but I got into work early so as I can get back and have a good look at it whilst I still have some daylight.

                          Hehe!

I understand though, in the ur the gauge is in the parcel shelf below the steering wheel, the gauge in the dash only goes to 1bar of boost..

Rob, I've got a boost gauge you can have for 20 quid plus P&P (or you can pop down and pick it up). Its the 30psi one I took out when I fitted the GB guage, it already mounted in a vent. You'll just have to sort out a bit of pipe and a T piece.

Vagcom software is free if you buy the adaptor from Rosstech, you can run with a chinese copy adaptor and an old version of the software but TBH its a bit of a fiddle..

Newsh, that would be perfect! I take it ebay is the ideal place to find the pipe and T piece? Just let me know when would be a good time to pop along and collect it.

Thanks for the heads up in regards to VAGCOM, I shall check that out ASAP.

This is why I love this forum (even with all the banter ).

I have found a few hoses after taking a look on Ebay. What Internal Diameter size do I need to make it fit correctly?

Not having Vag-Com is no excuse with a 3B. I've never used it on mine, although it does come in handy for the 8Ls.

You need 4mm ID hose for a boost gauge IIRC.
