Well the timing reference pin for G4 is at 62 degrees BTDC on #1 - this generates one reference pulse per crank revolution.

I *think* theres 135 teeth on the flywheel which triggers G28 for rpm. You might want to check up on that - dont have the facts in front of me.

G4 and G28 are inductive sensors - not hall effect devices. That 3rd pin you see on G4 and G28 is a screen/braid to reduce noise ingress. Pin 48 on the ECU is the nominal 0V reference point for them both.

All i need is the difference in degrees between cylinder 1,2,4,5 and 3. im esing 1 as the starting point at 0 degrees.

If i could use g28 as a crank sensor this would be great ,but i need a missing tooth and i dont think the starter motor woild be too pleased if i did that to it

Uhhhhh - if theirs 135 teeth on the flywheel and we have 5 zyl then its not rocket science to suggest 27 teeth spacing between sparks. Let me see, we have 360 degrees in a circle so thats gonna be 72 degrees between each pot on the crank.

Has anyone used that aftermarket ECU for Audi 20V applications before ? If not, then I'd suggest you have made a tough purchasing decision (versus buying one that has documented support for making it work on this engine) - unless you walked into this with eyes open knowing you'd have to create something 1st time here.
