Either way, has anybody got a ‘as new’ (ish) top cover that is the adjustable version like mine? (For a reasonable price)
All of the UrS4/S6 wastegate caps come sealed from the factory. IF (and I stress IF, you wanted to adjust the stock WG spring down a bit (e.g. 6 turns max)) then you need to drill out the center cap using these instructions:

    http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/149838.phtml

However, since your's is ******ed already, you want to replace it. Its the same top cap on any Audi 100/200 I5 10v turbo so you should be able to find one at a wrecker/breaker's yard for cheap. The instructions above help to remove and install it. (get the little nuts when you get the cap).

Personally, I went with 034's 1.9 Bar WG spring with zero (full up) adjustment on my RS2'd 93 S4. I like the initial snap it provides. YMMV.

When I took my car to Audi last year they commented on my wheel and tyre combination being too big for the arches (18”x8.5” on 255/35). So, being a trust worthy soul I bought the arch extension bits. ((£350+VAT) I will need to have them painted at the same time as I have my bonnet sorted.)
I would just like to see a car with them fitted before I do it.
      Many thanks.

Never heard of them. I know that UrS6 has wider arches than S4 and A6.

8.5" should fit fine in standard arches. Unless you have a silly ET number.

All urS4s and S6s have wider arches on the front as far as I know. The wings are different to standard 100s and A6s. I've got 18x8.5j alloys with an ET30 offset. The rears stick out a fraction but the fronts are absolutely fine! Not sure what these extension things are that you're on about. Got any pics?

I am very interested in the ‘1.9 bar’ spring, after I replace the top cover. (Been on eBay and watching a few as I write) What was your standard spring rated at before? I am running a ‘MTM’ phase 1 with other bits ‘n’ bobs and I was wondering what I might expect to see?

            (Other bits:
034 M’sport high output coil conversion.
            RS2 exhaust manifold.
            MTM exhaust.
            Free flow cats.
            3 bar map sensor.)

Got rid of the K&N and put a standard Audi air filter in but might get the Piper X one. ((Foam I think? No oil) New MAF so not going there again!!)

I will take some pictures of the actual arch extensions tomorrow, (Night now) as I have a day off work. They extend the arches about “30mm” and go over the front and rear bumpers as well. (They come already plasticized, just need painting and fitting)

Seriously, they are genuine Audi arch extensions for the UrS4/S6. I hope the attached parts picture is obvious.

            Regards,
            Andy H.

              Home fry and arches.

Here are the actual pictures of the Ur S4/S6 (Saloon or avant) arch extensions. They are still in the bags, I will get round to having them fitted.

If other pictures are required I will start a new thread as I am interested in the home programming that going on for the ECU.

Still interested in the ‘home fry and how to do it, etc.

The S6 has these arch extension parts as standard.

                  No they do not!!

I am afraid to say that these extensions are not standard.

No UK Audi S4 or S6 was supplied with these items unless the customer paid extra for them and he would have to be buying the extra wide wheels at the same time. (And that assumes he new they were available as it is not in the UK options list) Not one of the UK S4/S6 cars I have seen, (And I have seen loads) have these extra bits, especially so as the body has to be drilled to take them. It might be the case that some European countries came with them (I can understand this due to different builds) but even the German and French market brochures do not show them. (Audi Ur S6+ might have them but even my S6+ brochures do not show them as standard)

Audi UK advised me they were only really for Sweden and that area. However, if you have a picture that shows them fitted to a UK car an other car, I would grateful to see it before I do it to my car.

Your are quite correct, if you look at the parts database it lists them for the I5 and V8 engines. It doesn't group them to a particular region, only a particular engine which is odd.

However, having done a little searching I can only find pictures of a Finnish car with them fitted which would agree with your statment about them only being offered in Nordic countries.

That's an interesting distinction I wasn't aware of until today.

Mmmm. I wonder what the wide wheels were?

Pictures of one with arches and wide wheels would be sweeet.

Things like this only come about with Treser, Dahlaback etc. normaly.

I will take a front pair out of the packaging this weekend and trial fit them to a front wing and take some pictures. They should stand out quite well as they are in dark grey plasticizer primer. ((Well will see how good blue tack really is!!) Just hope it will not be raining)

Audi said they were for 9” rims. (About 2 years ago) I must admit I chickened out of going for 9” rims and plumped for 8.5” and mine just fit with the correct offset, although they do stick out at the rear around the bumper.

This gets more intruiging by the minute. I wonder what rims they were?

                            Did someone say 'homefry' ?

As yet, I've not had the pleasure of an AAN engine with automatic transmission - but it can't be that bad... I'll be happy to do that one at a super special knockdown price as its the first one - as long as its a standard K24 turbo and that the wastegate isn't messed around with. No fix, no fee policy applies on this one too. Just fancy a little challenge occasionally !

                              Fry up

                              Hi,

                              Car history:-

Full Audi and QSTservice histoty. (111000 miles)

It has had a MTM phase 1 chip set and a 3 bar map sensor. ((ANN Automatic, 7000rpm and the gearbox goes into limp home mode (i.e. top gear)) Would be good to have the rev limit set to say 6850 rpm to stop the gear box lock up!! Do not know if this can be done?) I have replaced most bits (With NEW items) including the MAF, WGFV, ignition coils; vacuum hoses, air filter, boost hoses, 200 CPI cats (a Pair), MTM cat back exhaust (twin 2.75"), S-Steel ‘Y’ down pipe (3" then into two 2.75"), etc, as mentioned previously. (Standard turbo)

I am looking for a standard wastegate top cover to get rid of the abortion of a conversion the previous owner did and it has a standard spring to revert this area back to standard.

I am very interested in the home fry but I would like to get the last bits sorted. ((What would be the cost of the 'fry up', as a one off??) In addition what would the stats be for the new conversion?? ((i.e. BHP/TQ, etc) against MTM 270BHP and 445 Nm)
                              : thumbs:

                                More thoughts

The MTM stats are only for the chip set and the 3 bar map sensor. (Does not take into account all the other bits ‘n’ bobs, etc) Oh I forgot, it has got a RS2 exhaust manifold too.

                                Sorry about the data overload.

                                Ba,
