I've been away for a couple of weeks and left my car with Pete Berry to trace the oil leak I was getting at the Donny trackday, turns out when I removed the AC from the car one of the bolts from the brackets I took off should have gone back in, it was needed to stop the oil coming out.
Embarrassing but may save someone else the trouble
No Jamo it wasn't that one, I did take that bracket off and discover the big hole behind it (non AC car turbo oil drain). It was a long bolt, about 4" long, that goes through into a void where the oil pressure relief valve vents to? I guess it was holding the adjuster bracket or stay, as I've already sold the AC parts on that bolt must have gone with them. I haven't got a good picture in my mind of which bolt it was exactly.
yup. i had a similar issue with a bolt for the rear belt cover not being torqued up properly and coming loose, que oil dribbling down the front of the block and all over the pan etc back - felt really stupid when i found out what i'd done
Just before the Donnington track day while I had it all in bits fitting the big IC and resprayed bonnet/bumper etc. Noticed the leak after the first track session, few drips of oil on the floor and a smell like the PCV wasn't working oil was getting blown back onto the hot exhaust.. Been trying not to drive it too much since then apart from sorting the misfire
