Not these days. They have globalised the pricing structure across the VAG group.

Doesn't stop things like tappets being far too pricey though.

Ah right. Well I was out of luck when I wanted a cam pulley wheel - Audi only part! (Unless someone tells me different, and it's used on VWs!)

Current status of car - taking airbox out tommorrow and checking all pipes for leaks. Also gonna get a steel airbox made up at some point to house a big cone filter.

I got a K&N racing filter from dialynx, but it clearly states - "for racing and off road use only - NOT for emission controlled vehicles". What difference will it make then to the emissions, anyone?

Tom - have you got the same filter on yours?

Leon TDI 150 run in now.

      Very slow.

      Needs a chip.

I have the same filter etc. Makes no difference to the emissions.

With regard to the tappets, i never put cams in without decompressing the tappets. That means taking them apart, doing it that way ensure that you never have any probs with valves hitting pistons. Trust me, i do this nearly every week.

Not sure on part number, but the golf IV uses a cam pulley very similar on the 2.0 8V engine code APK. Will look into that.

What is meant by "decompressing tappets"?
