    thanks jonas! good input

im trying to source out some space just at the corner of the inlet manifold tube,so that will save me lots of tubing too. However my DV and WI tube is located in that area so it is going to be tricky,
Also that area will create more issues when i want to empty it.As far as temperatures are concerned, well if i mount it there,it is above the downpipe,so plenty of heat there(but far enough so as not to cause any issues!)

If you do it the way that has been discussed, the serious vacuum, which happens when you close the throttle on overun, will still be applied to the crankcase via the hose which goes through the one way valve to the Inlet Manifold, any fumes taking this route will not have to go through the IC or turbo. This will also apply to sitting in traffic when there is sufficient vacuum to open the one way valve.

If (as suggested) you take the breather from the catch tank to the MAF hose then there will be some fumes going through the turbo when on boost but most of the oil will be caught in the tank. Remember the inlet manifold vacuum connection is still in place.

If the tank is vented to atmosphere you'll have a completely clean intake and the crankcase fumes will not be added to the air mass metered by the MAF. Remember the inlet manifold vacuum connection is still in place!

If you remove the vacuum on over run inlet manifold connection (as I have now done) you may burn a little more oil as the vacuum in the engine draws it up past the rings when you close the throttle and there's no crankcase vacuuum to oppose it.

            thanks Newsh,
can you elaborate on the frase: If you remove the vacuum on over run ? thanks

I have done something very similar (see pics) the first bottle is a baffled separator which returns to the sump the second is a condensation trap with a vent which is equal to the volume of the size of the pipe that comes from the sump.

The pipe that goes from the first bottle and weaves its way to the front goes to another condensation trap behind the head light.

Basically all vents to atmosphere are equal to the size of the pipes that come from the engine. Though the only thing I'm missing is a vacuum system.

The holes in the rear of the bonnet webbing are to allow the fumes to escape..

i think i will try both to be honest.I have the means as far as hoses are concerned.
Unfortunatelly the vents sizes are much smaller than the OEM,so i cannot do what you did.

Vacuum on overun (throttle closed) refers to the the inlet manifold vacuum connection mentioned above which you are leaving in place.

Look at the diagrams on S2 central

At the top you see the connection to the IM, you're leaving this intact.

On the left you see the connection to the MAF Hose this is going to the catch tank, then the ouput of the catch tank either goes to the Maf Hose or to air in which case you must plug the Maf hose.

Incidentally, I emptied my catch tank today after 3 or 4 months, it was 1/3 full of water with a bit of mayonnaise.

right, excactly.Im only blocking the MAF hose while leaving the IM hose in place. This means that on closed TB i will still be getting the blow by on the IM? but on boost and idle i will be getting them through the tank, right?

I was down at the car today trying to find a space for tha catch tank.Unfortunatelly i couldnt fit it around the back of the engine, near the downpipe,so as to keep the continuation of the tubing towards the turbo,so i will go for the open to air way through a KN filter.
I fitted it under the near the left headlamp,as it was the only suitable area where it fitted, and i will put a long hose towards the bottom of the engine to fit the KN filter to it.

In the near future,i will get rid of the MAF anyway, and possibly there will be more space to accomodate the tank over the air filter side. That way i can reroute the fumes and keep the system closed.

                              tomorrow the rest...

Has anybody compared condensated oil volumes when using mineral oil versus fully synthetic?
