I have a "1b"-hose for sale. Bought it 2 years ago and used it for ~20k kms but now it's in the "partsthatIdon'tneedanymore-bin".

Just give me a PM with a bid if you want it.

On the 200, the last 6 inches or so near the crankcase tends to get mushy, collapse and split over time. Replacement is only available from Audi and is over $100 USD from the dealer. Has anyone looked into using the METAL replacement part that Audi made for the 7a (2.3 Ltr 20v non turbo motor)? its shaped like a doll's elbow. Saw this retrofitted on a 200 20v 3B

        Just an idea....

It's a bodge but replaces the part on the rubber that tends to fail first. the last 10cm or so that goes into the crankcase..you will need to cut the old hose, slip the end over the metal end and keep it in place with a radiator hose clamp.

Sry for reviving such an old thread.
Is the smaller hose going from part 1a vacuum?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

No, it goes to the back of the cam cover.

                Samco 200q20v replacement?

On this old topic, is there a Samco replacement for the 200q20v breather hose?

From what I've read in this post, it sounds like a clogged breather system can cause fumes/smell to back up into the cabin while sitting in traffic. Is this correct? I'm getting an awful smell coming into the car, even with the windows up and the climate control off. Gets on my clothes too. Not a burnt oil smell but kind of what I expect the air from the crank case to smell like. A bit oily, a bit unburnt fuel, a bit like exhaust.
