I just checked the Clima(?) display on code 51. That shows the water temperature of the engine, I usually use this info to monitor the the temp and to match it to the one in the dashboard. But now i see that when the engine is cold and its +8 c outside that sensor now shows +50 c... So is the sensor for this the MTFS or is this another one? anyways something isn't right cause that used to show the correct temp.95 RS2

Took the mfts from the s6 just to try it out, still got +50c in the display at cold engine. but something sure works since it starts measurimg temperature in the climadispay after a while of idling. so have anybody got a clue to what sensor send signals to the climadisplay?95 RS2

The engine uses the MFTS to send temp info to the computer (3B at least) and to the dash water temp gauge. The ABY and AAN ECUs get coolant temp info from the G62 temp sender at the back of the head as shown here:
http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?p=18871694
The climate control uses an entirely different temperature sender, blue, two pin, 025 906 041A, located in a plastic "T" at the back of the head, as shown here:

ok..then its the G62 i have changed today. Gonna try to change the blue on that T on the back since it sure doesnt work right even if taht doesn't fix my running problems.
Tha car starts again from time to time but dies out and all it looks like to me is loss of fuel to the engine. So the pump is comming out tomorrow to be tested. Gonna change the filter also when i locate it

Just to be clear, the G62 coolant temp sender is for the ECU not the climate control. The blue temp sender in the plastic T is for the climate control and has nothing to do with the ECU.
Right?

Right - Climate control has its own water temp sensor that is Teed into one of the water matrix hoses at the bulkhead on an LHD S2/RS2 - G110 from memory on the schematics - should be a blue/brown wire and brown/white wire to that sensor.
The schematics incorrectly show this as G62 - you can just see my note on the last page here - http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/B/B75.PDF - Track 47.
See also how climate control terminates the ambient temp sensor and then provides an emulated signal to the ambient temp display in the cluster. I hav all the specs for all the climate resistors if you wann check them. I am long overdue writing this subject up.Paul Nugent
